Users perception on their relationship with health professionals. An exploratory study

This is a descriptive exploratory study carried out with users of the Public Health Service of Maringá - PR, with the objective of identifying their perceptions on the relationship with health professionals. Data were collected at the Municipal Laboratory of Clinical Analyses, through semi-structured interview recorded with forty informers, from March to June, 2006. The results revealed that the users noticed certain unpreparedness from the part of professionals in the humanitarian attendance and, for that they suggested some alternatives they believe come to contribute to the improvement of the quality of the services. It was concluded that, to answer the users' expectations, it is necessary that health professionals establish an accessible communication and a more reliable relationship, taking into account the history and lifestyle of the patients.
