Resumen
Objetivo: caracterizar el perfil sociodemográfico y clínico de los pacientes con diagnóstico de enfermería de riesgo de ojo seco en una unidad de terapia intensiva. Métodos: estudio transversal realizado en la unidad de terapia intensiva de un hospital universitario ubicado en el nordeste brasileño entre enero y julio de 2016. Resultados: se observó que 51,0% de los pacientes eran del sexo masculino, la edad media fue de 59,5 años, y 65,6% tenían pareja. En relación a los motivos de internación, 53,1% estaban en posoperatorio y 46,9% eran pacientes clínicos; 49,0% estaban utilizando ventilación mecánica invasiva. Conclusión: conocer las características de los pacientes con el diagnóstico de enfermería de riesgo de ojo seco en una unidad de terapia intensiva es importante para poder ofrecer una asistencia direccionada a la prevención y a la detección precoz del problema, con la finalidad de reducir complicaciones oculares.
