Dificultades en la aplicación del checklist quirúrgico: estudio cualitativo de abordaje ecológico restaurativo

Resumen

Objetivo: analizar la aplicación del checklist de la cirugía segura, buscando describir los principales factores que pueden afectar su rellenado y su seguimiento, según la percepción de los técnicos de enfermería. Método: estudio cualitativo, realizado con los técnicos de enfermería de un centro quirúrgico ambulatorio, del sur de Brasil. Los datos fueron colectados a través de grupos focales y métodos fotográficos, en la perspectiva del pensamiento ecológico y restaurativo. Resultados: del agrupamiento de las informaciones emergieron tres categorías: Checklist para la seguridad del paciente: todavía un desafío; Dificultad para adherir al checklist de cirugía segura; y Etapas del checklist. Discusión: los datos indican que algunas etapas de ese proceso no se cumplen aún y que hay dificultad para que los equipos adhieran a este. Conclusiones: entre las principales fallas encontradas, está la baja adhesión del equipo médico para realizar el time out y para marcar la confirmación del local del procedimiento. El abordaje ecológico restaurativo posibilitó la participación de los profesionales.
