Resumen

Evaluative nature of this research aims to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practice of women prisoners on male and female condoms. The interest in developing this research was due to greater prevalence of STI/HIV among people in jail, especially for women prisoners. The study will be developed  in a female penitentiary institution of the State of  Ceará with a sample of 155 women. Data collection will happen  in the period from March to May 2010 and will instrument the investigation Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) on the male and female condom use. For analyses will be used  the program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 17.0.
