The OBJN recognizes that scientific production and communication must reflect the diversity of the academic community and society. The journal is committed to:
Diversity and representativeness: Seeks to promote gender, race/color, ethnicity, geographical region, and institutional affiliation representativeness in the composition of the editorial board, scientific council, and group of peer reviewers, as well as values plural perspectives in the themes and approaches of published manuscripts.
Equity in access: The OBJN is open and free to access for readers worldwide. The fee policy is public and transparent. Associate editors and scientific editors of the journal are exempt from the evaluation fee during their period of service on the editorial board.
Inclusion: The journal encourages submissions from researchers at different career stages, from regions and institutions with less historical representation in nursing scientific literature, and from studies that address vulnerable populations or topics related to health equity.
Accessibility: Articles are published in HTML, PDF, and EPUB formats, aiming to expand access via different devices and assistive technologies. The editorial team is open to receiving suggestions to improve the accessibility of the published content.
Manifestations related to discriminatory practices in the editorial process can be sent to: objn.cme@id.uff.br.
Use of Inclusive Language
OBJN recommends the use of inclusive, bias-free language in all manuscripts. Inclusive language acknowledges diversity, respects all people, and is sensitive to differences. Authors must avoid terms or expressions that are discriminatory, stigmatizing, ableist, sexist, racist, ageist, xenophobic, based on stereotypes, or that reinforce prejudices related to disability, race/color, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, nationality, and socioeconomic status. It is recommended to use precise and respectful terminology, in accordance with the norms of the language of submission, to promote ethical and inclusive scientific communication.
