Abstract

Objective: To analyze Primary Health Care nurses' perceptions regarding an artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support system, identifying implementation challenges and barriers. Method: A qualitative study conducted through face-to-face semi-structured interviews in the workplace with 20 nurses. The interview recordings were transcribed and subjected to thematic content analysis, as proposed by Bardin. Results: Three categories were identified: Perception of the system and its impact on clinical practice, highlighting the tool's potential to support clinical reasoning, qualify the Nursing Process, and standardize documentation; Barriers and challenges in the implementation and use of the system, highlighting difficulties related to the lack of interoperability, technological infrastructure limitations, and increased workload; and Suggestions for improvement and future recommendations, pointing to the need for system integration, usability enhancements, and strategies that favor its incorporation into Primary Health Care workflows. Conclusion: Artificial intelligence-based systems show potential to support clinical practice in Primary Health Care; however, their effective incorporation depends on system integration, investments in digital infrastructure, and implementation strategies aligned with the organizational context.
