Abstract
Editorial with the objective of reflecting on the professional nursing practices and the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in the Unified Health System. Method: reflection article. Results: There is suffering and death as well as exposure of nurses to the precarious working conditions. Discussion: It presents nursing as a social practice, therefore a practice that is historically and socially constituted, thus being work in production not established at the individual level. It presents reflections on the profession's exposure in the pandemic, questioning the terms hero, new and normal. It brings as a problem the depoliticization of this profession. Conclusion: The pandemic exposes professional nursing practices with a historical social devaluation, with deaths and suffering.References
