Abstract: The research aims were to determine the health and welfare conditions of Black women in Rio de Janeiro. A survey was conducted to identify data related to self-image, sexual health, income, etc. The study concluded that the economic status and the internalized low self steam may compromise health and must be neutralized by affirmative actions leaded by the health professionals along with the Black women and society.
