Autoestima y angustia en individuos sometidos a cirugías oncológicas: estudio correlacional

Resumen

Objetivo:  evaluar,  en  pacientes  en  post-operatorio  de  cirugías oncológicas, la presencia de angustia y alteraciones del autoestima, y su posible relación con  el  tratamiento  quirúrgico.  Método:  estudio  transversal,  cuantitativo,  correlacional, realizado  en  un  hospital  localizado  en  el  estado  de  Minas  Gerais.  Fue  utilizado  el termómetro  de  angustia,  la  Escala  de  Autoestima  de  Rosenberg  es  un  cuestionario  de caracterización  de  los  participantes.  Resultados:  participaron  100  pacientes  con  media de edad de 59,56 años, con cáncer urológico (30%), la mayoría de hombres (54,0%). Se identifico la presencia de angustia en 65% de los pacientes, cuya media de puntuación fue  de  5,05.  La  media  del  nivel  de  autoestima  fue  de  7,07.  Las  variables  angustia  y autoestima presentaron correlación significativa. Conclusión: cuanto mejor es el nivel de la  autoestima,  menor  es  el  de  angustia;  las  variables  edad  y  escolaridad  no  tuvieron relación; no hubo diferencia significativa entre las variables sexo y tipos de tumor.
