Abstract
The research aims to understand the meaning the mental disease sufferers give to their disorder and to the psyquiatric deinstitutionalization. It is an ethnographic study. The context is Campina Grande in the State of Paraíba and the participants are withdrawn from a psychiatric hospital. For data collection systematic observation, field diary and oral history interview will be used. The results will contribute to the construction of knowledge related to change induced by psyquiatric reform and in professional education so they have a competent practice in face of social demands of mental health.Most read articles by the same author(s)
