Resumen

Objetivo: Analizar los factores que llevaron a la reticencia a vacunarse entre las embarazadas brasileñas y españolas durante la pandemia. Método: Estudio de métodos mixtos, parte de un proyecto de investigación en línea más amplio, realizado con 42 embarazadas brasileñas y 40 embarazadas españolas que respondieron a un cuestionario en línea. En Brasil, la recopilación de datos tuvo lugar entre julio y agosto de 2022, y en España, en marzo de 2023. Los datos cuantitativos se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva simple, y la información cualitativa se categorizó según el análisis temático. Resultados: La reticencia a vacunarse entre las embarazadas brasileñas y españolas se asoció con el miedo a los efectos adversos de la vacuna, la preocupación por el feto, el cuestionamiento del origen y el rápido desarrollo de las vacunas, la influencia de la información accedida a través de internet y las redes sociales, y las diferentes opiniones y controversias entre los profesionales de la salud con respecto a la vacunación. Conclusión: Reducir la desconfianza de las embarazadas hacia la vacunación, así como alentarlas a interesarse cada vez más en el uso de todas las vacunas disponibles, contribuye a ampliar la cobertura de vacunación. Por ello, es necesaria una vigilancia continua en los servicios de salud en todo el mundo para promover la seguridad y garantizar la protección de la vida.
