Abstract

The objective was to focus on the AIDS epidemic, identify the attitudinal barriers that put Disabled People (DP) in terms of vulnerability to HIV infection and discuss the National Health Policy for People with Disabilities concerning to actions to the prevention, control and increase access of DP-care services to STD / AIDS. Justification: lack of interest of DP for the prevention of STD / AIDS, lack of studies on sexual / reproductive health of these individuals. It was analyzed 24 texts. Methodology: it was used bibliographic access and virtual in the databases LILACS, MEDLINE, COCHRANE, SCIELO, and Website of NGOs and the Ministry of Health. Results: advance of the AIDS with feminization of the epidemic, sexuality and vulnerability denial of DP to AIDS. Fragmentation of health policy for these people. Conclusion: AIDS prevention depends on behavioral change related to sexuality and drug addiction. The DP are considered asexual and immune to AIDS; health policy focused on prevention of disabilities and rehabilitation. Basic health care provides assistance as standard model, not considering education in sexual health for DP.
